Thirteenth Avenue School joins in Haiti Relief Effort



The Thirteenth Avenue School family is kicked off its Haiti Relief Coin Drive with staff members taking time out to show their support for the residents of Haiti. School Principal, Ms. Irby-Jackson encouraged students and staff to take time out to show their support for the residents of Haiti and extend support to staff and students who have realtives in Haiti. Although the Support for Haiti was orginally planned for solicting coins, generous staff members have been placing more dollars than coins in the Haiti Relief Jugs.

Panther Pride Skate Party

A Thirteenth Avenue School Skate Party was held at the Branch Brook Skating Rink in Newark on Monday, January 18, 2010 from 3-6 p.m. Thirteenth Avenue Students celebrated Dr. Martin Lutheer King, Jr.'s Birthday with a Panther Unity Day. Ms. Irby-Jackson, Principal was on hand to greet students and parents at the Skate Party. Students enjoye a day off and a day out with their fellow schoolmates.

13th Avenue School kicks off "Project Talk"

Thirteenth Avenue School kicked off its "Project Talk" sessions on Thursday, January 7, 2010. Ms. Krista De Filipo from Project Talk served as facilitator. The sessions were held with 6th grade students and the Topic of Discussion was "Bullying". After a series of Bullying incidents in the sixth grade, Ms. K. Green,Guidance Counselor decided to coordinate the program. The sessions will be held every Thursday at 11:30 a.m. in the Panther Student Center throughout the school year.
